Weekly Beef Export Sales 03/05 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 267,200 pieces for 2026 were up noticeably
from the previous week, but down 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for China (140,100 whole cattle hides, including 1,400
whole cattle hides switched from Indonesia and decreases of 3,900 pieces),
South Korea (50,800 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,000
pieces), Brazil (37,100 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 100
pieces), Mexico (24,600 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 4,000
pieces), and Thailand (19,500 whole cattle hides, including decreases of
1,200 pieces), were offset by reductions for Taiwan (3,300 pieces),
Indonesia (1,400 pieces), and Italy (1,100 pieces). Exports of 278,200
whole cattle hides were down 18 percent from the previous week and 25
percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to
China (184,500 pieces), Mexico (31,700 pieces), South Korea (26,300
pieces), Thailand (25,500 pieces), and Brazil (3,000 pieces).
Net sales of 19,300 wet blues for 2026 reported for Thailand (14,900
unsplit), Vietnam (12,300 unsplit, including decreases of 100 unsplit),
Bangladesh (9,600 unsplit), Brazil (600 unsplit), and India (200 unsplit),
were offset by reductions for Italy (18,100 unsplit). Total net sales of
18,300 unsplit for 2027 were for Italy. Net sales of 6,700 other excluding
wet blues were reported for Turkey (5,300 pounds) and China (1,400
pounds). Exports of 121,100 wet blues were up 13 percent from the previous
week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to Italy (45,100 unsplit), Vietnam (40,700 unsplit), Brazil
(14,700 unsplit), China (11,200 unsplit), and Hong Kong (3,600 unsplit).
Exports of 2,700 other excluding wet blues were to Turkey (2,300 pounds)
and Mexico (400 pounds). Total net sales of 44,700 splits were for China.
Exports of 43,700 splits were to China.
Beef: Net sales of 11,200 MT for 2026 were down 14 percent from the
previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were
primarily for Japan (3,300 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), South Korea
(2,300 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT, including
decreases of 100 MT), Taiwan (1,400 MT, including decreases of 100 MT),
and Hong Kong (700 MT, including decreases of 200 MT). Exports of 14,900
MT were up 12 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior
4-week average. The destinations were primarily to South Korea (5,000 MT),
Japan (3,700 MT), Mexico (1,500 MT), Hong Kong (1,400 MT), and Taiwan
(1,200 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 36,100 MT for 2026 were down 15 percent from the
previous week, but up 8 percent from the prior 4-year average. Increases
were primarily for Mexico (22,400 MT, including decreases of 400 MT),
Japan (3,800 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), South Korea (2,500 MT,
including decreases of 200 MT), Nicaragua (1,600 MT), and Colombia (1,200
MT, including decreases of 200 MT). Exports of 37,800 MT were down 8
percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week
average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (17,200 MT), Japan
(5,100 MT), South Korea (4,400 MT), China (3,100 MT), and Colombia (2,300
MT).
